About UK Benefits Finder
A free, independent guide that helps people in the UK find the benefits and help they're likely to be able to get, and the official place to apply.
Who we are
UK Benefits Finder is an independent website. We're not part of the government, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), HMRC, Social Security Scotland, the Welsh Government or the Department for Communities in Northern Ireland. We don't sell anything, we don't take a cut, and we never ask for payment to help you claim. Applying for benefits is always free.
A guide, not advice
The finder uses the official rates for April 2026 to March 2027 and the main rules for each benefit. Real benefit rules are long and detailed, so our amounts are estimates and we can't cover every situation (for example students, people who've recently come to the UK, people in care homes or hospital, or the self-employed minimum income floor). Only the office that runs a benefit can tell you if you'll get it and how much.
For a full check, use one of the free benefits calculators listed on GOV.UK, or get free, confidential help from Citizens Advice.
Where the figures come from
Every amount comes from official pages, last checked on 3 November 2026:
- DWP: Benefit and pension rates 2026 to 2027 (the full table of weekly and monthly rates).
- GOV.UK guides for each benefit, including Universal Credit, Child Benefit, Pension Credit, PIP, Attendance Allowance, Carer's Allowance, Winter Fuel Payment, Warm Home Discount, Tax-Free Childcare and free school meals.
- mygov.scot for Social Security Scotland payments, GOV.WALES for Welsh schemes, and nidirect for Northern Ireland.
- The NHS Healthy Start and NHS Business Services Authority websites, and Ofcom for social tariffs.
Each result and guide page links to the exact source it uses. Rates usually change every April; we update them when the new official figures are published.
Privacy
- Your answers are worked out in your own browser. They are never sent to us or anyone else.
- They're saved on your device so you can come back to them. Press "Clear my answers and start again" on the finder to delete them.
- We don't ask for your name, address, email or National Insurance number.
- Adverts: the site is free because it shows adverts from Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads, including ads based on your visits to this and other websites. In the UK and EU you're asked first, and you can change your choice at any time. Your answers to the finder are never shared with advertisers. See how Google uses information for ads and turn off personalised ads in Google's ad settings.
- The page loads its font from Google Fonts, and our host (Cloudflare) keeps basic server logs, such as IP addresses, for security.
Contact and mistakes
Email [email protected]. We can't give advice on your own claim, but we're glad to hear about mistakes or missing help.
We check the figures against the official sources, but if something looks wrong, always trust GOV.UK, mygov.scot, GOV.WALES or nidirect.
